John Finnen was also known as Finnin.^2,3 He was born circa 1829 at Ireland.^4,3 He married Eliza Gibbons, daughter of Michael Gibbons and Grace Genevieve Sweeney, in 1847; This is a questionable date as their first child was born in 1860.¹ John Finnen appeared on the census of 1850; John and Eliza have not yet been found in the 1850 Census but there is a single John FINNAN, age 20, found in Southwark, Philadelphia in the 1850 census. He is a laborer in the DILLON home.⁵ He lived between 1859 and 1868 at E.
