Walter A Downey married Regina Louise Kellenbarger, daughter of Peter Arthur Kellenbarger and Viola Margaret Finnen, circa 1931. Walter A Downey lived in 1938 at Walter A., S. Columbus St., Somerset, Perry, OH; Directory shows Walter only...witnesses are assumption.2 He was (an unknown value) in 1940 at Downey Joyce Seven Up, Norwalk, OH.3 He was buried in 1940 at Holy Trinity Cemetery.4 He died on 21 October 1940 at at his residence 8 Rosedale, Norwalk, OH, at age 31; In 2002 Dwight Kellenbarger (Louise's 1st Cousin) told Rick Jackson this amazing story: While in the Army, Dwight was the Barber on a ship at Talagee (sp?) near Guadalcanal in 1944 when he was cutting a young man's hair and was chatting. The man was Eugene Feltner, approximately age 18, of Norwalk, OH, who, just 4 years previous, had been riding his bicycle with a friend and noticed the Downeys basement light on. He had "known" that the Downey's visited Florida in the winters and thought that they were gone. He told the friend's mother at the end of the street and she told him to see if he could get in the basement to turn off the light. Gene went to do so and upon looking in the basement window saw Walter Downey deceased.
In October, 2002 Rick Jackson visited Norwalk and met Mr. Feltner who confirmed the same story.1,3,5,6

Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Joseph Flauth and Mary, his wife, for the consideration sum of one hundred and ninety pounds in gold or silver money of Pennsylvania, to him the said Joseph Flauth in hand paid before the ensealing thereof by the trustees aforesaid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, released, enfeoffed, confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Patrick McSherry, Mathias Baker, and Henry O'Hara, trustees for the Congregation aforesaid, a certain house and lot of ground in Germany Township and County of York, lying on the westward of the road leading from Petersburg to Baltimore and bounded as followeth; beginning at the town alley adjoining Joseph Stealy lot and running southward with the great road aforesaid, seven perches and a half, thence northward seven perches and a half, then westward by the other land of Joseph Flauth sixteen perches, thence northward seven perches and a half to the alley aforesaid, thence with the alley eastward sixteen perches to the place of beginning, containing three quarters of an acre of ground, together with the house and stable and other improvements and appurtenances...to the only use, benefit, behoof of the Roman Catholic Congregation of Littlestown forever and for no other use, intent, or purpose whatever, to be converted unto a Roman Catholic Church or Chapel and Burying ground for the congregation aforesaid, to be known and distinguished by the name of the Roman Catholic Church or Chapel of Littlestown and to remain for the use and purpose forever unless otherwise agreed upon by two thirds of the members of the congregation aforsaid..."
