John Benton Derryberry married Rebecca Ann Haddock, daughter of Greenberry B Haddock and Amanda Smith, on 25 February 1866 at Ozark Twp, Webster, MO.^2,1 John Benton Derryberry was Farmer in 1880. He appeared on the census of 5 June 1880 at Clinton Twp, Texas, MO. He died on 18 August 1882 at Cabool, Texas, MO, at age 37; Rumor is that he was killed by a bushwhacker.¹

     Rebecca Ann Haddock was According to John C. Pratt, Rebecca arrived in Dayton, WA in the mid 1800's with five children and no husband (DFN Nov. 1993). He spells name as Dereberry. Her parents were Greenberry Haddock and Amanda Bell Smith. The aparent reason she went to WA was that she had a brother, Zacariah, there. Some claim that her parents were killed by Bushwhackers during the Civil War. She dealt in real estate and ran a boarding house for a time. Her house sat land now occupied by the city hospital. Her will is recorded Vol. 8, Page 438 of the family records of Columbia Co., WA, recorded 14 Mar 1922, probate filed 22 Sep 1925. It is said that her sons, Fisher and Robert quarreled over the estate which, basically, went to attorneys of the two brothers.

She was a strict Baptist. She did not allow cards, drinking or smoking and children were to remain quiet on Sunday.¹ She was born on 6 October 1847 at Parris, Barry, MO.^2,1 She was the daughter of Greenberry B Haddock and Amanda Smith. Rebecca Ann Haddock married John Benton Derryberry, son of William H(owe?) Derryberry and Sarah Alexander Galbraith, on 25 February 1866 at Ozark Twp, Webster, MO.^2,1 As of 25 February 1866,her married name was Derryberry. Rebecca Ann Haddock appeared on the census of 5 June 1880 in the household of John Benton Derryberry at Clinton Twp, Texas, MO. Rebecca Ann Haddock died on 7 March 1922 at Dayton, Columbia, WA, at age 74.^2,1 She was buried after 7 March 1922 at Dayton Cemetery, Dayton, WA.¹

     Catherine (Katie,Catsie) Long was born on 24 February 1788 at Bethel, York, SC. She was the daughter of David Long and Mary Howe. Catherine (Katie,Catsie) Long married Daniel Michael Derryberry, son of Adam Derryberry and Eve Liggett, on 6 May 1806 at Franklin, Williamson, TN.¹ As of 7 August 1806,her married name was Derryberry. Catherine (Katie,Catsie) Long died on 27 October 1857 at Lovettsville, Maury, TN, at age 69.

     David Long was born on 13 May 1758 at Bedford, VA. He married Mary Howe, daughter of William Howe and Catherine Craig, on 27 June 1787 at SC. David Long died on 24 January 1845 at Marshall, TN, at age 86.
