| This is Thomas Downey and
Margaret Degarmo, who did not marry until 1853. Jacob
and James are sons of an unknown father; the rest of
the children are believed to be of Thomas Margaret. The
Degarmo family stories are that this is Thomas Martin
Downey. Thomas died in 1858. Nothing more is known of
him. |

I believe these three are
buried at St. Patrick's. The following records were obtained
from the Church by Jean Collier but no markers were found.
It is not certain wether the dates are death or interment
dates:
7 Jul 1851, Catharine, daughter of James, aged 28
15 Sep 1853, James, aged 74
16 Feb 1883, Ann, aged 68 [if this is indeed the same Ann
then either the Census age or the Church record (age or
date) is wrong]
Ann is not found in the 1880 Census so it may be that 1883
is not the correct death year. |

| This family no doubt immigrated
between 1851 and the enumeration date. Neither Patrick
nor Bridget are found in the 1870 Census in Ohio. This
census entry is the only information I have about this
family - I would love to know more. |

| This entry is all I know about
Bridget. She may be the daughter of Patrick and Bridget,
above. She is not found in the 1870 Census in Ohio. There
is a Bridget Downey in Thomas Prindable in Perry County,
1863 but nothing more of the couple - or if this is the
same Bridget Downey - is known. |

| I believe this Martin is actually
Martin Van Buren Degarmo, grandson of Margaret Degarmo-Downey,
above (just 2 dwellings away). Why was he with the Lattas? |
